MILESTONE WORTH CELEBRATION IN PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

🎉

On 30th April 2026, was not just another academic day, it was a powerful moment of impact and purpose for our Second Year Diploma in Public Health students (January 2025 intake).

Through a well-articulated and confident presentation delivered by Mr. Fortune Chinkudzu, the students shared their research findings on the assessment of environmental health conditions at Nguludi Market in Chiradzulu. What stood out was not only their understanding of real community challenges, but their courage to present solutions that matter.

In the presence of key stakeholders and institutional leaders, including Father Chikwenya ( Nguludi Catholic Parish Priest) , Miss U. Phoya (College Principal), Madam Tukula ( Dean of the students) , Heads of Departments, the Environmental Health Officer from Nguludi Mission Hospital, the Market Chairperson, lecturers, and fellow students, the message was clear, Public Health is not theory, it is action. Special recognition also goes to Ms. Ellen Ndovi for her excellent facilitation of the event, which contributed greatly to its smooth and successful execution.

The findings highlighted critical issues in sanitation, waste management, and hygiene knowledge and practices. Beyond identifying problems, the students rose to the occasion by proposing practical, realistic, and community-driven solutions.

This was more than a presentation. It was a call to action. The next step is implementation. The impact we seek will only be realized when knowledge translates into action and collaboration turns ideas into change.

We are proud to see our students evolving into professionals who are ready to protect communities, influence change, and shape a healthier future.

“Public health is not about knowing more ,it is about doing more with what we know.”
